Don't fall into bad habits while learning on your own!  Learning from a qualified instructor is always the best method.  But, if your doing it on your own, this book teaches you how to do it right.  Bad habits are hard to break.

The title says it all, doesn't it?  Well, not really.  This is another excellent book from Frederick Noad for the beginning guitar player.

Learn your favorite songs on the computer.  A fun interactive experience where you "watch" the music being played on the sheet and the fretboard of the guitar.  While not for the beginning guitarist and definitely not for students of the classical or Suzuki method, it is an excellent learning tool that makes music fun!
